Livestock Production

Your source of healthy foods, everyday!

Our farm is diverse. We keep cattle, goats and pigs.

We pride ourselves on the diversity and quality of our livestock operations, which form the backbone of our agricultural activities. We carefully select the breeds of livestock we keep on our farm to maintain quality and consistency of our products.

Cattle rearing

Introduced cattle for meat, milk and milk products in near future. Currently, the farm has local indigenous Cows, as well as Ankole type. Four Milk cows were procured but 3 died as they were brought during bad weather/season. We have started harvesting and sale of milk, supplying the local community and nearby Okollo Town council. The demand is more than our current capacity.

Goat rearing

A combination of local goats and Mubende bucks including off springs are thriving well on the farm. These goats were acquired by careful selection. There are plans to acquire more goats and diversify the breeds to include the South African boar goats. Additional Goats shelter has also been constructed to increase the number of Goats in 2022.

Piggery

Three Large white sows and one boar have produced 63 piglets over a period of two and half years. Plans are under way to increase the number of sows to 10 in the medium term (within 5 years) and to 20 in the longer term (within 10 years). However, currently we disposed off all the stocks of pigs for rehabilitation and modernization of the equipment and housing.
